BC Boxes Of Love

Wow, what a year for BC Boxes of Love! Our theme for the BC BOL this year was "A Pinch of Love," we executed this by adding "A Pinch of Love" cookie mix in each box, "A Pinch of Love" cookie on each staff gift, the donation of the "A Pinch of Love" book to the school libraries and a fantastic skit written by Pastor Laurel and performed by our amazing kids team plus Jared and Mary! As the students watched, they giggled and cheered, all the while being engaged in the lesson of LOVE!

The school communities were so thankful again for the love that was generously poured out on the students and staff from CLA. The principal of Douglas Park Elementary thanked our volunteers for being a part of the community and, specifically, part of the Douglas Park family!

I want to thank everyone who helped to pull off this big project! We had over 160 volunteers who helped and so many generous donations to help fund the work that we are doing! Thank you to the following:

Chelsea and her girls, who counted and set up all of the content that went into our boxes

REV Hubs that helped build the boxes

HER Church women who helped assemble the beautiful staff gifts

Young Adults and our Life Group, who filled all of the boxes

All of those that helped us make 805 of the cutest "Pinch of Love" Cookie Bags.

Carrie who baked all of our "Pinch of Love" cookies.

Our Kid's Min team who created the teaching component to the BC BOL assemblies at the schools.

All of the volunteers that came to deliver the boxes and Steve Nicholson who always knows how to build the hype and share the love!

So many were involved, from helping us feed our volunteers to unpacking 100's of wire whisks! We couldn't have done it without you all…and it was a lot more fun that we got to do it together!

In John 13:35 it says, "By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another." This is a treasure that we have in the church and it makes our lives richer. Over the past month in prepping for the BC BOL we got to serve alongside so many people, sharing in love with one to another, when we go out to the schools together people see that love and are drawn to it.

While setting up the treats and gifts in the staff lounge on of the staff came up to me and told me that her and her daughter have started coming to CLA. She said her daughter went to REV Camp last summer and she absolutely loved it!

I am so thankful to be part of a church that is transforming lives, we are making a difference in our community and certainly known for the love that we generously share.
